North Park is located northeast of Balboa Park . An ‘up and coming’ area, North Park began its revitalization in 1993. The area is comprised of craftsman style homes and apartments. A weekly neighborhood Farmer’s Market is held every Thursday starting at 3pm, where members of the community gather, and get the latest information on local events and projects.

Just south of North Park and east of Balboa Park is South Park. This neighborhood is a charming, historical area with its own business district including restaurants, coffee shops, boutique style shops, and markets.  One of downtown San Diego’s first suburbs, the homes in the area consist of craftsman bungalows, and Spanish style homes, many of which have been restored beautifully. The community definitely has a small town feel within a larger city.

South of Balboa Park you will find the community of Golden Hill. The area is within walking distance of downtown San Diego.  The sense of community is built through events like the Golden Hill Block Party and the Kate Sessions Fest. Both of these events are free, and feature local bands.
